Biographies

Paulo Ferreira

Born in Valpaços in 1970. He graduated in International Relations (specialised in International Economics) by the Social and Political Sciences Higher Institute, University of Lisbon. He is currently taking a Masters’ degree at the University of Minho, on the issue of “The cost of non-decisions in the local and regional press in Portugal” He started his career writing for the “Jornal de Valpaços”. From there he joined the “Semanário Transmontano”. He was a TSF and “24horas” correspondent in the Trás-os-Montes region, and also wrote for the national daily “Público”. After joining the “24horas” Porto newsroom, he worked at Comércio do Porto, where he became the Regions and Economics editor and, later on, editor in chief. From there he moved to “Jornal de Notícias” in 2002, where he was the Economics and Politics editor and, later, editor in chief. Three years ago, he became this newspaper’s sub-director.
